By know you have probably personalized the Start screen by pinning new applications and files. You power have too increased the figure on rows shown inside Start screen. While personalizing the Start screen, you power have asked one question yourself. How to retitle or remove the “Start” text? Unfortunately, Windows 8 doesn’t allow you personalize the “Start” words from the Control Panel.

To retitle or remove the Start text, you need to edit a system file. Here is how to do it. Thanks to debugged for this tip.

Procedure:

Step 1: Download and install Resource Tuner tool supported by your Windows 8 PC from here. It’s  a fine tool that enables you edit system files. Resource Tuner is a paid software. So, simply download the trial version for this job. You can too use any other free alternatives for this purpose.

Step 2: The next pace is to navigate to the following system folder:

C:\Windows\System32\en-US

(where “C is your Windows 8 drive letter)

Step 3: Under en-US folder, locate the folder named twinui.dll.mui and grab the ownership on the file. Please follow our how to grab ownership on folder or folder inside Windows 8 guide to know additional the same.

Step 4: Once done, unlocked twinui.dll.mui folder with the already installed Resource Tuner tool.

Step 5: Navigate to String table and move to 235. Now, click supported by Resource Editor button to unlocked the twinui.dll.mui folder with Resource Editor.

Here, select “Start” words and retitle it. Click Ok button to save it.

Step 6: Now, click supported by Save folder as button to save the folder onto your desktop. Make sure you name the folder as twinui.dll.mui and then close Resource Tuner before proceeding to the next step.

Step 7: Open C:\Windows\System32\en-US and retitle the original twinui.dll.mui folder as twinuibackup.dll.mui and then move the new twinui.dll.mui that you have saved supported by the desktop to C:\Windows\System32\en-US folder. Click Continue for the confirmation prompt.

You are done! Reboot your PC to see the change.
